Can I Be A Pilot and Colour Blind?

That is a great question but sadly with a not so great answer.
Technically you can still fly however the Commercial side of flying for a career is not an option. For a Commercial pilot you need an Instrument Rating which requires a pilot to have the ability of night flying.  Night flying is the issue.

A colour blind person will not be able to see the likes of runway lights and also the navigation lights on aircraft. The question normally can this be fixed? The answer is no. You can still however learn how to fly but only in a private capacity and you will be restricted to only day flight.

This is the number one leading issue for pilots and not being able to exceed past the private licence.
This doesn’t mean the end however as you can still get an aerobatics rating, fly float planes, banner towing, glider towing, scenic flights and the list goes on. The only restriction is by day only and you will not be able to work for money.

Any more information I would ask your local Aviation Medical Doctor.
